22 oz bottle pours dark and thick brownish black with a solid tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Rich roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and oak flavors. Very sweet. Chewy mouth feel and a smooth finish. Very tasty!

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sweet, roast espresso aroma. Pours dark near black with minimal oily head and good lacing. Nice flavor profile and hop presence. This is a good beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught into a growler. Pours an extremely dark brown color with very little head on it. Nose is roasty with some heavy chocolate elements and quite a bit of oatmeal in there as well. Taste is fairly sweet and roasty, and just a tad overly sweet for me. Still good, though. Would go great with oatmeal cookies.

Tap at Devil Craft Hamamatsucho. Liquorice, fruity porter like aroma. Taste has bit of coke, touch of smoke, little bit of sweetness. Can’t get the oatmeal. Pretty boozy. Cherry.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black, body with a small thin ring of brown head. The nose is sweet and roasty with a bit of fruitiness and oats. The flavor is very sweet with roasted and burnt malts, some rich fudge cake ilke notes. Lingering sweet finish, rather well hidden alcohol. Mouthfeel is fairly heavy and clingy with minimal carbonation. Not the best Stout, a little too over the top sweet and sticky for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Black coffee pour topped with a cap of light brown foam. Moderate notes of charred malt, cocoa powder and brown sugar in the nose. Taste follows with a healthy dose of smoky roasted malt, dark chocolate mocha and molasses with a bit of dark fruit and citrus hops bitterness toward the end. Somewhat of a thick and creamy body with medium carbonation and more roasted chocolate malt in the finish. Nothing too complex but a decent variation on the style and an ideal breakfast beer.

Tap at Garage 39. Shiny black with a pretty, fine head. Nose of chocolate, milk, coffee. Nice. Sweet, fruity flavor, milky, creamy, chocolate and berries. Strong, with lots of berries and fruit. Tasty stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the World Craft Beer Tasting 2013 in Osaka. Smooth and deep chocolate aroma. Fizzy but thick chocolate initial / some dark fruit in mid palate, sugared prunes and raisins / alcohol is overly apparent in final. Heavy, thick body. A bit creamy, but oatmeal doesn’t really seem to play much part. Super filling (and not entirely pleasant as the final beer of the evening). Like swallowing a log of chocolate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at World Craft Tasting 2013 in Osaka. 9.5% A wonderful dark black pour with a beige head & an incredibly chocolatey aroma. It has a full mouthfeel & the taste is chocolate, some oak notes which is then followed by some roasty bitter coffee flavors. It is a touch boozy but is overall a really nice imperial stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Tap House, Seattle. Black with a short light brown head. Big liquorice presence in the aroma. Lots more of that in the taste, with a helping of coffee and lots of roasty, tobacco-accented maltiness. Oatmeal lent its own character to proceedings. Good stuff.
