Type: 16-oz. bottle Glass: Pint glass From: MacKenzie River Pizza in Spokane, Wash. Price: $3.50 (Happy Hour) Purchased: March 21, 2014 Consumed: March 21, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a dark orange, murky color with one finger of white head when I got it. Below average lacing on the sides of the glass. Average-to-below average retention on the top. Smelled Smarties candy, floral hops, light grapefruit, citrus hops, lemon juice and rubbing alcohol. Really hard to find though. Tasted candied floral hips, light bitter grapefruit, booziness, rubbing alcohol, citrus hips and buttery notes. Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Astringent finish. Nothing too special. Would not have it again, although this was my second time having it.

Draught. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose has some very nice hoppy elements to it, with some piney and herbal notes coming off it. Taste is pleasantly bitter, though it feels just slightly heavy. Pretty good.

Draft to tulip Caramel, grapefruit, flowers, and tropical fruit Cloudy amber with a thin white head. Lots of tropical fruit, grapefruit, and caramel...very sweet.

otakuden (1783) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Appearance: Dark copper with orange highlights under a large orange pith hued head which slowly fades into a thin layer with a few arcs of lace. Swirls fluffy.
Nose: Pine sap and hop resin. Caramelized melba and bread crust underneath and in the back. Bittersweet whole apples in the middle. Grapefruit oils along the side.
Palate: Medium weight with a slick viscosity in the middle and along the sides. Dry finish of pine oils and hop resins. Sticky sweet caramel and toasted malt underneath along with a hint of apple skins. Grapefruit oils along the side. More pine and hop resins in the front.
Final Thoughts: Quite the solid IPA from Boundary Bay, a brand new brewery to the Beer Ambassadors. Based on the tastiness of their Inside Passage Ale, we would like to enjoy more of their brews. Can anybody hook us up? Until then, keep brewing because you have a good thing going.

Bottle from Bellingham. Pours red gold. Aroma is full and sweet caramel; spicy pine, light catty, moderate ripe fruit. Flavor is more sweet, orange bitterness and fruit, metalic finish. Feel is sticky, warning, dense. Not a standout but good.

arminjewell (5715) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 31, 2013
Pour on tap, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of big orange peel, grapefruit, nice lemon, into slight biscuit, caramel, and bready malts, touch of grass as well. Taste is a mix of big fruit, hints of orange, grapefruit and slight mango, touch of spice, grass, slight caramel, finishing bitter, dry.

Bomber. Pours a dark amber orange with a small white head. Very smooth. Much smoother than expected. Also maltier than expected. Not really bitter. Worth a try though.

maekchu (1756) - Hirakata, JAPAN - SEP 23, 2013
Draught at the World Craft Beer Tasting 2013 in Osaka. Quite substantial citrusy nose -- deep and pleasing. Big initial fruitiness, fades to some balance in mid, more sweet than bitter, and has a light bitter finish. Not hop intense at any point.

Beergeek23322 (2024) - Chesapeake, Virginia, USA - JUL 23, 2013
August 2012. 12 oz. bottle. Fresh hops, citrus, pine with malty flavors. Dry, bitter finish. A good IPA, but nothing surprising. I would drink it again.
