Ratebeer doesn’t give this one enough credit. This is one of the most aromatic and flavorful beers I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot). This one wins peoples choice awards time and time again at local brewfests. The dominate citrus and piney flavors of this beer give it an incredibly fresh taste - almost as if the hops are fresh cut. Come on people, don’t let other beer raters taint your rating. Drink it, savor it, and then give it the rating it deserves.

Bottle - Nice balanced citrus hop aroma. Foamy white long lasting head and a bubble clear amber hue. Perfume hopy taste with a candy like sweetness. A bitterness that is midway through making this a very mellow and pleasant session IPA.

Pours a cloudy gold color and has a small, white head. Hazy orange. Rich hop nose. Good malt strength.

On Tap at Pepper Sisters. Fresh & Tasty. Nice and hoppy but with rich malt flavor so hops don’t overwhelm. Slightly cloudy, amber appearance & nice fragrance. If you like IPA’s, I’d reccomend giving this one a try.

Efflorescent nose...Jocund 2+ finger hold fasting head...deep and glowing titian orange tinct. Very hoppy and indicative of a surpassing west coast IPA. Lingering deep bitter flavor. Fans of the genre will be quite appeased.

On tap at Brouwer’s Café in Seattle. Pours copper with gold edges, white head and spotty lacing. The aroma brings forth fresh grapefruit hops mixed with lightly roasted malts and some breadiness. Overall the aroma is a bit light. The taste only has a hint of breadiness that goes well with caramelized malts and formidable grapefruit hop bitterness. The malts and grainy breadiness add a welcomed dimension to the flavor but the hops are the main player here.

Orange-bronze colour. Citrusy hop aroma. Wonderful complexity of hop flavours. Spicy at first with some citrusy notes before a dry, bitter, finish.

Very citric, tart lemony aroma, somewhat juicy. Orange amber pour, then on the second pour, major yeastcake. Thick eggshell white head oozes lace throughout. Very tangy flavor with lots of lemony c-hops and enough malt balance to keep you interested. Lght in body with with lingering bitterness. A few years ago, I might have raved about this, but now I think it’s pretty darn good. Thanks Skyhand.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2011 Draft at the brewery
Murky semi-dark oange and rust colored. Sweaty, fruity hop oil nose with some grassy notes. Very nice scent. Very punchy and sweet, fruity cocktail flavors abound, with some pear juice, marachino cherries, pineapple and sweet, rich and bittersweet juicy hop cones. Amazing depth and complexity, one of the best IPA in the PNW. Who knows what’s the deal with the bottled version. Fresh draft was other-worldly.
