HoppedHead (106) - seattle, USA - JUN 9, 2005
pours deep golden/amber hue, minimal head, but it sticks around and to sides of glass, citrus hop aroma, strats with malty sweetness, followed by a rush of bitterness, dry piney and grapefruity, bitterness lingers on the tounge leaving a grapefruity flavor with a sublte sweetness, a fine IPA nice to see in a bottle, still better on draft.

Unclear light copper orange, small foamy tan head fades. Piney citrusy hop aroma. Good intense balance of piney resiny hops and bittersweet caramel malts. Deep and complex. Softly carbed, medium bodied, medium hopped. Bitter hoppy finish. Very good. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

Bottle - Nice balanced citrus hop aroma. Foamy white long lasting head and a bubble clear amber hue. Perfume hopy taste with a candy like sweetness. A bitterness that is midway through making this a very mellow and pleasant session IPA.

Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. The beer pours a slightly cloudy orange-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly. Rings of lacing. Piney hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of citrus, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

This one has been on the list for a couple of years and big ups to smurf for helping me procure one finally. Sticky pine flavors with a full bodied caramel malt base. Smooth texture. Piney aroma as well. Resiny finish.

At Taphouse in Seattle. May not have been fresh -- tasted watery, thin, lacking fruit and citrus. Bready malt, not too bitter on the finish. Kind of dank. Compared to the other 12 IPAs tasted at the same time, this one ranked way down there.
