On tap. Clear dark gold with thin but creamy head. No lace. Very strong bitter hop aroma. Very strong bitter hop taste. Really one-dimensional but I love it!

Pours a cloudy dark gold yellow with a thin fizzy white head. Aroma is a sharp pine hop with a little sweet honey. Taste is a overwhelming blast of pine hops and intense hop bitterness. It mellows a bit with some malt and resiny sweetness. Good beer but maybe too in your face bitter for my likes. Thanks to Derek for this one.

650ml bottle pours a pleasing golden orange color with about 2 fingers of white head with good retention and some nice lacing on side of the glass. Aroma is citrusy and earthy hops. Taste is citrusy hop bitterness with some underlying malty sweetness. This is a wonderful IPA that is a great tasting experience.

Pint @ 74th St. Ale House. Every time I grab a Boundary Bay ale, I’l always pleased. This one was a smooth and well-balanced IPA with a fresh bouquet aroma. Tastes big but not overwhelming. Much care was taken with the grain bill. This is a great beer.

A bright amber beer with heaps of root-beer-float-style white head. The nose is spruce and resin with a touch of biscuity malt, a little one dimensional though. In the mouth it is crisp and very bitter. Herbal dryness allows one or two bursts of sweetness through before oily orange and pine see you to the finish. Very bitter.

Bottle a gift from LS’s friend and a nice one for the tailgate. Cloudy dark orange with a lacing, rocky tan head. Very floral, piny hops, strongly bitter with resin, strong citrus component and very juicy! Medium-light body, delicious and a good style rep.

You know, I’m baffled - that a brewpub in Bellingham would manage to gain such attention! Not that this is a bad thing, but still, it’s an oddity to be sure. And I can’t complain... yet. This is my second bomber of theirs, probably the last for a long time given my locale. Tossed into a tall glass the carbonation pushes the beer up well into a fine head, on top of a bright brown body (ooh, I had one of those once. But on a different species). The aroma is all sharp hops, as an IPA should be perhaps, but lacking complexity. The flavour is a good hoppy amount with a slight hint of malt and a huge bitter and dry finish. Too bitter and dry for me, in fact - I’m puckering my lips. Gotta go find a bottle of water. This is a good sipping brew though, and certainly a high-quality IPA.

22oz bottle. Poured a cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus and pine. Tastes of citrus, pine and caramel.
