Maria (4725), Thisted, Denmark Feb 3, 2008 Thanks Tom/After4ever! It’s pitch black with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, berries and sweet licorice. The flavour is smooth with notes of sweet, but strong licorice, berries, roasted malt and perfumed fruit. I like it a lot, but the perfumed notes are a bit artificial in my mouth. Aubrey (2625), Denver, Colorado, USA Feb 16, 2005 Deep and dark crimson-black. Toasty aroma. Milk chocolate sweetness, as well as a little syrup. Flowery hops, kind of grassy and zippy. Slight sourness. Not too shabby. after4ever (1925), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 4, 2007 Growler, purchased at the brewery yesterday and refrigerated continuously. Pours deep grainy/cloudy black, some moussy medium-tan head. Modest nose of white sugar, molasses, chocolate. Attack is equally mild, with flavors of some strength, but by no means above average boldness for the style. Mid-palate is essentially the nose brought to life on the tongue (sugary business), until the finish approaches, when a nice balancing note of roast emerges, and makes for a satisfying conclusion. Starts seemingly oversweet but finished endlessly sessionable. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 1, 2004 Sweet chocolate aroma. Full bodied, chocolatey palette with adequate bitterness. Bitter finish. A good NW stout. BrewDad (1711), Olympia, Washington, USA Apr 20, 2007 Tap - Eastside Tavren<br />
A deep brown color with a thick chocloate flavor and a deep rich malt and great subtle coffee flavor. This was a very good Oatmeal stout. I will drink this again and again.
