BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Apr 20, 2003 Nitro Porter. Beer was black in body with small foamy tan head. Aroma was roasted and chocolatey but the flavour did not live up as it was quite thin. Finish was quite thin as well. herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA Mar 18, 2003 I thought this was pretty light and dry tasting. Decent aroma, nothing bad but just not very full tasting. jpfrog (130), Bellingham, Washington, USA Feb 9, 2003 This is not the porter that I remember about six months ago. This version was watered down and tasted somewhat spoiled. It had almost a grape-juice taste about it. Will definitely try again when a new batch comes out. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Feb 8, 2003 Updated: May 16, 2004The porter most often found at Boundary Bay today is the Nitro porter, which I'm not sure if it's a mutation of the original or a completely different beer. The Nitro Porter however is MUCH better than their previous porters I've had: very dark with the classic creamy nitro head, only difference here from your standard nitro beer is the full roasted chocolate and espresso flavor, combined with a flawless mouthfeel it really is something special. 2/8/03 - This honestly tasted as though the brewery wanted to fill a keg with the one gallon of beer remaining at the bottom of the batch so they poured some water in and flushed it into a barrel. Through the water I was able to distinguish a faint roasty chocolatey flavor - almost a porter in miniature. Kaya161 (1129), Aspen, Colorado, USA Jan 20, 2003 Nearly black colour. Mellow roast/cocoa aroma. Chocolate flavour to start with a roasted malt bitterness to end. Good classic porter.
