The biggest religion in America is baseball, closely followed by religion. This cultural extravaganza can’t be properly appreciated in full without a refreshing brew such as the Double IPA, the heavy hitter of Yankee craft beers. Stolen Base is our version. A triple play of smooth malts, citrus notes, and supersize-me hops that leave it bitterer than a Hollywood divorce.

Poured from bottle. Little yo no head. Dark amber colour. Smells Like quince paste. Earthy tones. Nice light ipa much better than some other boundary road brews.

Bottle. Clear amber color, white head. Aroma is pleasant, hoppy, sweet malty. Nice sweet malty taste, hoppy, fruity, balanced. Positive surprise.

500ml bottle pours a brown color with a fine frothy head. Not much hops in this. Mild maltiness that balances the alcohol.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2015 Surprisingly good beer from a big brewery. Complex aroma of pine, citrus & grass and a rich golden head. Chewy, rich taste that backs up the aroma to the end, with a rich 8% alcohol that doesn’t overpower. Only downside to the taste is slight soy sauce saltiness. Only $4.99 for a 500ml bottle, this is also excellent value and compares well to craft breweries.

Tested from bottle in New Zealand. Again on the low end of IPAs. Decent balance but nothing remarkable.

This beer deserves better ratings than what it’s received. Not quite up with Hopwired but an amazing kiwi IIPA. I drank allot of this while over there and for the price and quality it was an instant winner. A perfectly balanced double IPA, beautiful citrus aroma, decent alcohol warmth and strong bitterness. Extremely good and worth trying again. If I ever see it in Oz I will definitely buy it. Well done!

I had to suck on a few Boundary Rd lemons to find this plum, but well worth the effort and wait for this, their finest, ale. Dark kauri gum appearance with a light melon and guava fragrance. Well balanced bittersweets, and a whopping 8% alcohol. Very nice

Overall impressed with this one, great fruity hop aroma and caramel malt base. Very well balanced for an 8%. Worth getting one fresh.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2014 This beer was recommended to me by Jarrod at ’Your Shout’ Linwood. Also jimthechap liked it, so it’s all good for a taster by me. I love the colour of the drop in the glass. Bugger all head, but some lacing down glass. Interesting aroma, some pawpaw and mandarin. Not an overpowering alcohol hit for 8 per cent which is refreshing. I don’t drink Boundary Rd beers as a rule, mainly because I think they use too much sugar in their brewing, hence the massive hangovers next day. Bane of a beer lovers life! I do however think the Harringtons IPA is far superior to this brew. I will drink this again, and is definitely the best Boundary Road beer I have tasted.
