Bottled 330ml (BZ, BB 10/2012)
Amber-copper color, small steady off-white head. Aroma of berries, vanilla and nutty malts. Medium-bodied. Vanilla dominates, not whiskey barrel like vanilla but ice-cream vanilla. Otherwise quite basic sweetish malty, caramelly lager with berries in the finish. A bit too obscure.

Kristall-König (2207) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - MAY 26, 2011
Geruch malzig, vanillig und marginal Karamelltöne. Malzig-karamelliger Start. Mittig Vanilletöne aber dünn im Aroma. Leicht malzbitterer Abgang. Ein Bier mit Maronen aus dem Tal der Ardeche. Klingt nicht übel. Geschmacklich leider viel zu verwässert und lasch ausgefallen. Da hätte man mehr draus machen können.Test vom 3.8.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Bov (9452) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 2, 2010
from Mondial de la Bière 2010, Strasbourg - translucid bright reddish-amber colour with no foam left; a fair aroma of chestnuts; pretty oily palate and a modest malt backbone, a solid but subtle carbonation, some late tartness and quite sweet; long chestnutty finish - one-dimensional but not unpleasant

Bottle 33cl from Mondial de la bière. A clear light amber beer with no head and very low carbonation. Aroma is lightly on chestnut at the beginning and after that nothing, a watery beer, no malt, no hops, nothing, very boring.

rand (1280) - SWITZERLAND - APR 22, 2010

A Mes rate. Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting.
Hazy orange with a shortlived white head. Rather boring concoction of vanilla and toffee with an obvious hit of chestnut. Faint chocolate and more nutty stuff in the finish. Nothing special.
