Amber color; poor head. Light aroma of chestnuts, acceptable. Weak mouthfeel, with a light flavor, mix of caramel and vanilla-chestnuts, not what you would like in a beer. Not horrible, but useless as a beer.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with very light head. Aroma of nuts and sweat. Flavor of bitter almonds, hazelnuts, and peanuts with some malty tones. Interesting but not a beer and doesn’t taste like another.

On tap at Delirium. Dark cola body with puffy head. Nose of malts and caramel. Taste is sweet, some anice, sugar, milky. The whole thing a bit twisted.

Draft @ Delirium, Brussels.

330 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.
Clear copper colour with tiny white head. Sweetish woody nutty aroma with malt and alcohol (not in bad way). Flavour is dryish malty with sweet nutty chocolate notes. Sweetish nougat chocolatey aftertaste with dryish woody maltiness.

[330ml bottle, Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn] Brown pour, with a thin lacing of gassy bubbles. Rather sweet, almost vanilla-like aroma. First taste is weetabix – that dry, wheaty cereal flavour. There’s some vague sweet nutty edge to the aftertaste, but overall it’s quite disappointing. As a chestnut beer, I much prefer Pietra (but don’t tell the French) [06012012]

Thx to Lefty aug. 2011. Tate @ home end octobre ’11. A hazy orange color, with a darkwhite head. Borring beer aroma toffee, bit vanilla and nutstouch. Medium body. Tastebit chocolate and nuts in the finish. Special but not my favorite.

Bottled 330ml (BZ, BB 10/2012)
Amber-copper color, small steady off-white head. Aroma of berries, vanilla and nutty malts. Medium-bodied. Vanilla dominates, not whiskey barrel like vanilla but ice-cream vanilla. Otherwise quite basic sweetish malty, caramelly lager with berries in the finish. A bit too obscure.

Pours amber with a thin off-white head and a nutty aroma. There is a mild caramel malt flavor with lots of chestnut.
