BroueNeault (157), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Apr 27, 2004 Amber beer with an unpersistant white head. Aroma of malt, hop and vanilla. Taste of chestnut with some hoppy bitterness. Not bad...
fiulijn (6010), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 20, 2008 Bottle at Le Sous Bock, Paris
Amber color; poor head. Light aroma of chestnuts, acceptable. Weak mouthfeel, with a light flavor, mix of caramel and vanilla-chestnuts, not what you would like in a beer. Not horrible, but useless as a beer. sunevdj (1511), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Oct 26, 2007 Pours a beautiful, clear, red amber with an off white head. Quite sweet with strong, slightly bready chestnut aromas. Medium bodied. Highish carboantion. More chestnut in the finish. Weird but good. Gets a bit cloying towards the end. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark May 8, 2007 Bottled. Amber coloured. Notes of nuts, vanilla, prunes and dirt. Quite sweet flavour. Oxidized. Unpleasant. SilkTork (3949), Rochester, Kent, England Nov 23, 2006 Coffee, caramel and freezer ice - lots of fizz. Gentleman’s hairdresser. Some dark chocolate cappuccino. The base beer is unexciting. This is like a cheap flavoured coffee, except it’s a cheap flavoured beer. Acceptable, but only just. scotty (759), Scotland Oct 28, 2005 Well, to quote Cream, this is a "Strange Brew"...Hazy gold colour, thin, but fine bubbled head. The nose is unusual, vanilla, and is that some sort of sweet biscuits?...The palate is sweet again with the nutty flavours making an appearance. An unusual style, nice, but one is enough, thanks!
