3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 wlajwl (2899) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - APR 27, 2013
Aroma is what I assume to be bilberries (like a mix of grapes and cherries) and an undercurrent of malts. The flavor is berries, malts and a mix of sweetness and tartness in the finish. Kind of one-dimensional but not bad.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 anders37 (12708) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 1, 2013
Bottle @ Triple Rock Sour Sunday, Triple Rock, Berkeley, CA. Pours a reddish brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity slightly sweetish berry aroma. Sweetish fruity malty berry flavor. Has a sweetish fruity berry finish.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 madmitch76 (9867) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2013
23rd November 2011 Cloudy purple toned beer with a frothy pink head! Light palate, a little crispy and semi dry. Odd burned cotton starts off! Pleasant tangy blackberry follows. Mild creamy malt before the dry finish. Okay fruit but the burned cotton is pretty off putting.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2013
330ml bottle shared by Finn. Reddish-amber body, unclear. White head, nice artwork to the glass. Plain sweet berries to the nose. Taste of strawberry mingled with raspberry as well as a few hints of earthy malts. Dry and sweet ending. Unvaried, but drinkable (at Finns in Tromsø, 02.01.2013).
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Finn (3090) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 3, 2013
Flaske 0,33l fra Brune Rousse Houblon, Nice. Brygg 91. Delt med Rune under rateseanse i H9 2 Jan 13. Dyp rødbrun. Middels luftig skum med mye lacing. Kjempesterk jordbæraroma. Silkemyk tungefølelse. Smaken glir i retning av bringebær. Blir ikke for søt. Bra - men litt kjedelig.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 15, 2012
A reddish copper ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a smooth sweet myrtle berry with light chalky notes, cherries, quite nice. In mouth, a refreshing lightly acidic cranberry like spritzer, not bad. Bottle at Mondial 2012, June 9 2012.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 JEK69 (359) - FRANCE - JUN 18, 2012
Pours reddish with copper notes, smells blueberry/strawberry fragrance.
A bit artificial, clearly not from fruit maceration but more liqueur addition.
In mouth: totally unbalanced: bitterness of fantomatic hop melts badly with chemical fruitiness and wrong sucrosity.
Ask for "Un demi Myrtilles s’il vous plaît" and you’ll get this !
Disappointing
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rosenbergh (4653) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 4, 2012
330 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.
Dark brownish red colour with small to average size light pink head.
Sugar, berry juice and berries in aroma. I can’t say if it’s necessarily blueberries might be also raspberries. Flavour is drier. There’s also berries, raspberries or blueberries. Malt, hints of bitterness and some sweetness too. Unbalanced.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerCast_Rich (1680) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 16, 2012
[330ml bottle, Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn] Vibrant dark-red pour, with a thin coating of bubbles. Deep blueberry aroma, right from the start. Apparently French Myrtilles are bilberries – but never having tasted one it was blueberries that came out for me (and they’re very similar anyway). Long, dry fruity finish. The nicest of the Bourganel beers I’ve had [06012012]
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Idiosynkrasie (1832) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 5, 2012
330ml bottle. Hazy brown purple with rapidly fading pink-white head. Blueberry - just blueberry. That’s it. Liquid muffin. Anyhow, i like blueberries.
