Pours with barely any head and a dark brown body with little carbonation. Aroma is rye bread, spices, barley. Taste is sweet mud, a bit of sour ale, some chocolate. Nice, in fact, a good sipping beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2010 Bottle from a beer fair in Girona. It pours dark brown dense liquid with a low light brown head. The aroma is sweet, like Porto wine, yeasty, with a matching taste of dark chocolate, licorice and some fruit (mostly cherry); disapointingly, also a little watery. Carbonation is low, as well as bitterness. It finishes sweet and kind of acid. Singular beer, very different from the other brunes; not my type of beer, but it is worth trying.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huge, cream to mossy coloured, very dense & fine head over cola-coloured beer with a mossy sheen. Sweet-sourish, nutmeg, lactic acid. Sweet, lactic but no sourness, wood, but a little impression of artificial sweetener. Warming up, this turns into a bit syrupy sweet soy sauce flavour. Very slick, sticky, but nice palate. Not a patch on the former Oud Bruin (oh, how we mourn the Sirius of yore...), but even this new Brune is palatable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottled, 5.2% ABV) Clear, very dark ruby brown with a small and fading, lightly lacy head. Aroma of tart, lightly roasted malt and some cherry. Flavor is tart and sugary with dried fruit and cherries, some woody-oaky notes. Light to medium body, somewhat sticky-sugary palate with lowish carbonation. Not among the best oud bruins (this is not a dubbel), but not the worst. 6264

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml bottle, no cork, just an usual cap. Dark brwon colour, with beatiful reddish hints to the light. Good beige creamy head with lace. Aroma is very acidic, with fruits (cherry specially), wood, caramel and brettanomyces. It feels good on the tongue, although a bit light. Taste is acidic, fruity, sherry wine and brattanomyces are there.
