Bottle. Dark red body with a thin off white head. Booze, cherry, oak, sweet nose. Some cough syrup. Taste is sweet cherry, light oak, barely tart.

bottle pours redbrown, good white foam smell is rather sweet. bit fruity, almost no sourness. not the complexity i usualy get in this type of beer ... bit dissapointing as this was the ’original duchesse the bourgogne ’

On tap at La Becasse. Lovely bright reddish brown colour, white foam. I sort of wanted to dislike this given it’s another sweetened mass market version of a proper sour. And it certainly isn’t in the same ballpark as a Rodenbach or similar. But it actually wasn’t bad, there’s a maltiness and fruitiness in there, the barest hint of sour and quite sweet.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2014 Can definitely tell its a sour. A smoky oak taste is prevelant mid sour fruit apricot and plum. More of a bite than a bitter. Fairly well balanced, but thin and not as bright as it could be. Could use little more sweet for the sour or a more fresh fruit.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a decent white head. Aroma of tart fruit and spice. Taste is cherries, vinegar, raisins, spice, and wood. Interesting.

This isn't my type of sour. It's sweet and tasty in that regard, but it isn't very sour. Overall a good quality beer, though. ---AJ's Approval

From Tap @ Monk (Brussel).
