Toch wel een licht bier voor zo’n zwaar bruine kleur. Je zou denken dat het een trappist is :).

Bottle split at home, 21/11/15. Reddish brown with a decent off white covering. Nose is sweet and sour fruit, caramelised sugar, light spice, earthy red berry. Taste comprises light cherry sourness, wood must, fruit cake, trace of funk, earthy, bitter red berry, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light acidic rise. Adequate but low down the order for this style ... too sweet.

Bottle at home, from ???, 08/10/13. Reddish amber brown with a thin light beige head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is bready malts, cardboard, stale biscuits, light fruit tang. Taste comprises berry fruits, light sugar, brown bread dough, fruit cake, vinous wood, tartened blackcurrant jam, light fruit balsams, picks up nicely from the bland nose. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry slightly tarte wooded finale. Ok sour brown, picks up fairly well after a subdued nose.

Deep red/brown colour, with an off white foamy head that dissipates slowly, leaving white lacing. Aroma is caramel, red fruit, roasted malt, herbs, spices, earthy wood and some chocolate. Taste is similar with a light sour cherry, wood smoke, sweet vanilla and raisin. Aftertaste finds raspberry and strawberry tones.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2015 0.33 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Brown colour. Taste is mainly sweetish brown ale combined with some sour lambic. Note that you should cool this too much since you’ll loose then the taste of lambic.

Tasting glass in a beer tasting in Bruges, Belgium. My new favourite beer style. This has not too much winegar acidity, but also not too sweet. Everything is in balance. Be warned, though, the taste does not resemble other beers.
