Wood, nut, apple, and a little sour funk in the aroma. Flavor starts sweet and fruity, especially apple. Not entirely pleasant metallic tinge in the sour finish. OK.

On tap. Big foamy khaki head. Lots of bubbles on the side of the glass. Plenty lace. Clear red / brown color. Much sweeter taste than I was expecting, more sweet than sour, I think. Light tart. Tasty cherry aroma, subtle wood. Very light carbonation, medium body. Texture isn’t too oily. Good flavor, very interesting flander ale.

Bottle: Dark chestnut colored pour with a thin ring of sandy head. Aroma is standard fare; oak, lightly vinous, and sour. Flavor is adds in more fruity elements and some candied Belgian sugar. Mellower than the nose would suggest. Ok overall and pretty tame compared to the studs in this style, but certainly refreshing.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jayb0 (916) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - JUL 10, 2012
Not bad but I’d prefer a sour/wild ale to be a little more sour. Hints of cherry and blueberry but the sweetness is a bit too up front and gets in the way. Still, totally drinkable.

From the tap came a amber brew with a light white head. Cidery sour aroma but not unpleasant. Flavor was sour first with a semi dry/sweet finish and light body.

Tap. Looks like a coke with decent head and moderate lacing. Smells lemony and tart. Sour but not as robust as I prefer. Moderate carbonation, lightly tart finish.

Taste is a bit sweet mix of barley malts (sweetness), sugars, hint of wood, some yeast, fruits (more like red fruits), cherries, berries, grapes, caramel, light sour.
