A - moderately bready with a touch of sour fruit. A - dark brownish red in color. No appreciable head T - very mild tartness. not nearly as sour/tart as I anticipated. P - for a brown this beer had less body than I expected. finished pretty cleanly for a sour ale O - not a bad beer just not as tart as I prefer. If you’re not looking for super tart beer this would fit the bill nicely.

Bottle. Dark brown in colour, quite clear, small brown head. Fruity and wineous, some toasted malt notes too. Sweetish in taste, fruity with woody finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly metallic and sour finish. OK.

Geur: zuurdesembrood. Smaak: licht zoet, zurig, wat kandij. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Helemaal niet te vergelijken met "oud bruin".

Bottled 330ml. -at Harat’s Zagreb. Reddish/brown coloured, minimal off-white head, light sourish fruity nose. Fruity, slightly perfumed grapes, touch of red wine with some sweet notes in the finish. Nothing special here.

What a nice surprise. Much darker then first anticipated. With a hint of sweetness. Lovely to sip on.

ALLOVATE (2912) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 29, 2016
Tried this one back in September 2013, and I must admit I remember enjoying it quite a lot.
Radiant mahogany body with a big and lasting, rocky beige foam that laces well. Nose is plump and thick and displays savoury fruit mince, tart berries, madeira, oak and choc toffee. Tart with a juicy, dark berry sweetness to the front. Well rounded with a lightly husky malt and stale hop roughage late giving it a soft to moderate bitterness. Woody, dry and tart finish with a vinous astringency. Lasting carob and Shiraz flavour lingers long on the tongue. Quite lively on the palate but with a firmness that gives it more body and presence. Overall balanced between sweet and tart, and medial on complexity. Drinks superbly for an Oud Bruin. Enjoyable!! (75cL, BB 04/10/14)

Oak in the aroma with some sweet candy. Dark ruby red in color with a quick dissipating head. Some oak and sour and a little watered down in the taste. Doesn’t sit well on the palate. Overall impression is not good.

Harat’s Zagreb, bottle. Misty brown-red body with a slightly off white head. Light off white head. Very light tart and fruity notes in the aroma. Taste... eh, grape juice, maltiness, medium carbonation, actually more on the sweet side. Not terrible, but quite basic and for "beginners". The "faro" among the Flanders Reds.
