3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of caramel, cherry, raisins, and vinegar. Very nice dark amber color and clarity- poured a very thin head but left some lacing. Tastes sweeter than I’d imagined, slight oaky notes, low acidity, roasty. Kind of a sherry or Madeira flavor. Palate is semi-thick, with large tangible bubbles. Roasty

Bottle with Belgian Family Brewers at Lindemans
not overly sour, sherbetty, woody, lactose sweetness, high carbonation, citrussy, corn notes, harsh, too much young sweet brown ale, insufficient lambic for balance.

Bottle. Mahogny ruby, small off-white head. Berries and lots of artificial notes in aroma. Not much difference in taste either. Quite horrible brew to spoil a good style.

On cask, Tasting Set at La Becasse. Bourgogne 5% lambic, brown beer mixed and aged in oak, who knew? A nice looking deep brown with a sweet caramel brown sugar aroma. Med-light bodied with a fairly full smooth mouthfeel. The taste is malty caramel fudge with a bit of tartness around the edges. Easy to drink brown. Alright but the Doux is the best, if I ever get back here I’ll get the half liter of that for 5€ or hell the liter. Good stuff.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Putrid brown liquid that pours with little head and no lacing. It just does not look appetizing. Smells more promising. Sweet caramel and a light cherry acidity. Tastes of cherries and some oak. The tartness is barely strong enough to overcome the sweetness in the middle. Not a bad flavor throughout. The failure is in the finish. The beer thins out and tastes like a sickly sugar water. Ugh. Light body. High carbonation. Just kinda unpleasant in the finish. Not something I’d drink again.
