UPDATED: SEP 26, 2008 Bottled. Hazy mahogany colour, creamy head. Caramelly nose with some burnt wheat buns. Sweet and near full bodied with wonderfully cottony soft mouthfeel. There’s spun sugar and toffee. With its mild malt softness all the flavours come out on full dsiplay. Not very complex, but extremely good. Bov’s bock beers are something out of the ordinary!

Bottle. It has a clear, copper body and a beige head, looking quite cute. Aromas of beef-stock, sugary maltyness, some fruity, caramel and a touch of alcohol espaces the glass. In the mouth, it has a pleasant malty and meaty flavor with a nice fruity touch. Low on bitterness initially, but it’s there when the beer is swallowed. The finish is quite roasted and sweet as well, and it lasts for a good while. Full body. A pleasant dobbelbock. (080314)

Bottle@Home. Dark of mainly dark malts with a hint of smoke. Reddish brown color, firm beige head, good lace. Sweet, malty, light herbal, bitter finish. Sticky and a little warming. Sweet, pleasant but exceptional. I think underrated though. The Danes should become more chauvinistic about their beers. Or is it that they are spoiled with all those great Danish, American and English beers available over there? Thanks to HenrikB for sending this!

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2010 Tap @ Cockney Halloween Beerfestival, 2010.
Pours a lovely, clear red with a small, staying, creamy, yellowish head. Aroma has rye bread, lots of sweetness, a hint of grassy hops. Medium carbonation, light dry palate, good creaminess. Flavour is only softly sweet, caramel, light rye bread, a hint of brewing cereal. Long, good, bitter finish. Quite drinkable for the style and really lovely looks.

Bottle, bought @ the brewery. Pours a pretty, darkish brown, rather clear looking. Head is small, medium in creaminess. Aroma is sweet, mildly vinious, some dried fruits and a mild hoppiness. Quite creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Flavour is sweet, more vinious than the aroma (perhaps too much, bordering on alcoholic). Some slight chocolate abound among a metallic off-flavour and stickyness to it. Not much bitterness, not much sweetness. I agree a little with Enjoyit that this is a bit like a Ceres Royal - a touch better, though.

Small cream-coloured head, well-carbonated brown beer. Bit earthy, leafy nose, but very demure. Earthy, mild-sweet Doppelbock; touch of mild chocolate, and sligthly peppery, cardamome peel. Medium bodied, slick; with a bit wry, if not unpleasant aftertaste. Very convincing Doppelbock. Txs to J & C!
