2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Beershine (4717) - The Sunshine State, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Can. Looks like a lager is pretty pale. But head is ok. aroma is mushrooms. Dough. Mushroom flavors. Damp earth. Grass. Apples. Moist dough. Sticky but dry palate. Dry bland hops. Boring @ best!
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 presario (4133) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 27, 2012
Loose can from the corner store. Minimal head. Dark amber with a bit of haze. Light hop scent of a nice craft amber or thin pale rather than IPA. Light malt and stronger hops. Weird bit of soda character to the body. It’s like they are trying for an IPA but without committing to the cost for quality, depth and body. Hops are strong enough for thin body but overall comes off like a weak bodied APA. Not even really a starter or crossover like the much much better SNPA.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 wintyguy (38) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 2, 2012
The Bowen Island IPA. A good beer. Tastes are floral with grapefruits, and bitter citrus fruit attributes are present. Light caramel color in appearance. Good head thickens then hangs around. Very good carbonation levels, further making the mouthfeel spot on. In my subjective opinion, not every IPA needs to knock my socks off with massive bitterness, or over do it with the citrusy piney, blah blah blah.. This beer tastes great, and proves it in the can. My fridge often sees this beer.
1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 jmdr (8) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 27, 2012 does not count
Not bad, and inexpensive. Nothing really stands out—a bit hoppy, a bit malty, a bit of head on pouring...
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 10, 2012
Hazy tan. Lightly herbal hop aroma. Dull earthy hop and medium bitterness. Finishes slightly dry.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 reebtogi (2169) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 10, 2011
355ml can poured a light straw color with a finger and a half of white head which dissipated quickly leaving only a minute trace of lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy with some hops. Taste is dominated by an undesirable hop bitterness with a light malty sweetness. Not quite enough hops to qualify this as an IPA and body is a little thin as well. Below average beer for this style.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Radek Kliber (5306) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - SEP 15, 2011
Can 355 ml
Aroma: lighter yet fairly fresh hop resin hop hints. Sweet sides. 7-
Appearance: clear amber gold with mid lighter rocky white top. 3-
Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: medium light bodied. Leafy citric hop character, true yet quiet light. Good malty body to it. Finish slightly mineral and watery. Pleasant surprise.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 15, 2010
(Draught) Sampled at GCBF 2010 on September 11, 2010. Thin, dark amber and headless. Nose is very berry, caramel and a little hop scent. Its so weak and flavourless. What is the point of this?
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 mcberko (2465) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 16, 2010
Can, pours clear copper. Aroma and flavour of grass and a strange, off-putting vegetable-like quality - hardly hoppy, more grainy. Poorly made.

GCBF 2010. Hazy honey gold, thin white skim for a head. Cereal base flavour with a weird vegetal brothy kind of hop character. I don’t think this came together very well. Too bad.
