can. Poured clear dark amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma is a bit cheesy? Medium-like bodied, creamy mouthfeel with an acidic finish. Bready malt flavour, almost yeasty, sweet caramel with an earthy note. Lost points on aroma and overall but it’s drinkable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of cereal, pale malts and dme. Taste is sweet malts, light cream corn and not much else. Probably the best of the Bowen Island beers I’m terms of style.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can to grolsch glass, the beer pours a very slightly hazy golden orange with a white head. Aroms is soft hops, honey, caramel, grain and vegetal in character. Taste is a good mix between sweet and bitter, very nice in this respect and the beer is quite palatable, being light bodied and easy to drink with high carbonation. Very refreshing. Overall...not so bad, the hemp is faint but the beer is pretty decent.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours so dsrk golden its amber, dude! J/k.! No really its a dsrker amber with a blonde.tint. the head is thin and white, the aroma, all caramel malt with some apple fruitiness, and the flavor the.same. there may be.some oily texture from and hemo but no flavor. Note to you pot heads, this is not weed, fucktards, and there is nothing cool about that or it.

As Reef Break Hemp Blonde Ale. 355ml can. Orange pour with a weak white cap. Nose has a bit of a nutty note and some sweetness. Taste is caramel and a bit of nut. Light hop note at the end. Not that interesting.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Came in a 12 can sampler pack. Beer now under the name "reef break". Slight malty, hemp scent but rather muted. Pours a good looking red copper with a thick head but ends spotty around the rim. Flavor is most disappointing. Small hoppiness but fairly watered down commercial beer taste. Ok to drink with friends on a hot day but id be suprised to see this on tap.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
355 ml can re-branded as Reef Break Hemp Blonde Ale. Clear light copper, small foamy off-white head fades. Muted malty aroma. Lightly sweet, fruity, not too bland blonde malty taste, vague hints of citrus and earthy herbalness, no bitterness. Average carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. Less offensive than most KB offerings. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
355 ml can. Translucent deep honeyamberVery thin head head and soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Small sticky lacing with near zero carbonation; Very sweet aroma of malt, with honey, cranberry, red fruits, caramel, light biscuits, sugar, nuts and light herbs; Close to light sweet taste of thin malt, with thin toffee, faint red fruits, light molasses and soda; Mid to light body, slightly thick and slick palate; Mouth feel is macro amber lager with thicker body, with thin malt, toffee, red fruit, some sweetness and nothing more. Kinda sluggish and empty… No hoppiness to write home about. No smell, taste, nor bitterness, just some herbal aroma (could it be… ?). Sweet finish.Slighty dry after taste, very easy and slightly sweet to mouth.
Comments: A marketing ploy? A misnomer? Doesn’t matter. This is just a straight forward micro Amber Lager with sweet nose, thick body, almost tasteless and no hops. Maltyless is thinner than micro Pale. An easy-going drink and great for washing down meals. One of those typical hang out beers with your buddies. Meh!
