3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DruncanVeasey (5145) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2009
Cask, Nottingham 09. Not blue, but orange amber busy with lace. Slipping into generic caramelised bottled bitter territory now. Tea, caramel, lemon and sweet vegetable aroma. Actually quite a good sweat of hop. Soapy orange and grapefruit mingled with choc Hobnob, linger of Rich Tea dunked in Darjeeling. Woodsy and creamy. Exceptional ordinary bitter, magnificently named.
