Cask at Chelmsford Beer Festival. Dark hazy brown colour. Creamy malt nose with some heavy caramel. Flavour is lovely sweet coffee malt with a nicely balanced hoppy finish. Has a strange yeasty almost champagne like note. Excellent length. Slightly watery in the palate but it still feels lovely. A really enjoyable beer with the same name as our street. :) DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jan 17, 2006 Cask Stillage at the Mill At The Pier, Wigan 05/03/2004
Black with some alcohol and fruit. Smooth on the palate with a slightly bitter chocolaty finish. Gazza (720), Worcester, Worcestershire, England Nov 12, 2004 Good beer, little trace of the alcohol which is always good. The taste is dry and quite full in body and has lots of black malt flavours - liquorice, burnt chocolate, burnt matches. Quite interesting and remarkably drinkable for a strong-ish beer. Being dark helps. (Cask @ Liverpool Beer Festival)
