Cask (handpump) at Peter Kavanaghs, Liverpool, April 2008. Nice bright amber colour. Unfortunately, that’s where the good bits end. The aroma majors on diacetyl and this carries through into a buttery character on the palate, although its not quite as prominent there. Couldn’t really delve below the diacetyl to explore the underlying beer. Drinkable (just) but not a very enjoyable experience. Mark down for a re-rate.

[Cask from The Three Judges] Deep amber colour with a light foamy head. Floral with buttery toffee notes and some ripe berry fruit. Light on the palate, fruity and dry.
