Bottle. Amber beer with a good soon disappearing head. The aroma is toffee, yeasty and hopped. The flavour is dry and hopped with that standard toffee'ness that comes with an English bitter. Overall a very nice drinkable English bitter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep amber brown in colour, no head. This has a fruity pale ale character with some grain in the aftertaste. Sweet nose.

(Bottle): Pours a brown with white head. Nice gentle hop aroma, some toffee notes in there too. Fair sweetness from the toffee and malt flavours balanced by bitter hops. Not bad.

Bottle, from Spar, Scarborough. Golden brown, thin shortlived white head and gentle condition. Pleasant citrusy hop, melon fruitiness and gentle caramel sweetness in the nose, full bodied and fruity in the mouth with earthy hops dominant and some sweet malty caramel notes, finish is pleasantly spicy and hop bitter with a suggestion of retronasal coffee roast.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from York Beer & Wine Shop. Tawny brown with white head. The aroma and initial flavours strongly consist of a treacle note, not oversweet, but really quite dark. Heavy roasted malts and a smooth cherry like fruity flavour give a lot of depth. Rich and fruity, the hops must be doing a job somewhere, although they don’t show through. Pretty reasonable.
