| A Golden Ale/Blond Ale brewed by Bowland Clitheroe, England
| |
chris_o (4393), London, Greater London, England May 5, 2008 Cask (handpump) at the White Star, Liverpool, April 2008. Pale gold. At last! After a run of promising looking golden ales that delivered only a dry, citric bitter this one is actually and aromatic blond. Plenty of flowery hops in the aroma. More flowery hop notes, backed up by grapefruity citrus on the palate. But manages to stay reasonably dry and firm with enough crisp bite on the finish to make for a very refreshing beer. Plenty of flavour for a 3.8% beer. The only problem was that, like the other beer I had at the White star, it was served a little warm. I wonder whether they have some problem with their cellar?
