2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ChainGangGuy (3835) - Canton, Georgia, USA - NOV 29, 2008
Appearance: Pours a clear, dark mahogany-hued body with a thin, bubbly head.
Smell: Altogether weak, mild nose smelling only of a roasty nut character.
Taste: The malts exhibit a roasted nut taste with only a faint amount of sweetness. Hmm, not too much in the way of hops either beyond a tiny, tiny bit of bitterness. Finishes dry and bordering on out-and-out watery. There’s really just not that much to it at all, unfortunately.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: Rather lacking, even for a brown, but, as this is a new brew from a new brewery, perhaps in a year or two’s time they’ll be blowing my mind with a hellstorm of awesomeness.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 ATLBeerDog (280) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 1, 2008
From a brown 12oz bottle - Pours a clear brown color with a slight head and very low carbonation. Smells of roasted malts and nuts. First sip is sweet, not very hoppy but a pleasant balance. Some nutty flavor notes present. Finishes just slightly bitter Decent mouthfeel but very under carbonated. Pretty nice brown ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerHawk (1635) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - AUG 19, 2008
Sampled at the 2008 Music City Brewers Fest. Cola brown with a thin off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with hints of nuts. The flavor follows much the same (caramel and nuts) with light hints of chocolate and roast. Light body and a slight watery texture. Very decent.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 merlin48 (656) - New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA - JUL 5, 2008
From a sixpack bought at Chuck’s Liquor Store in Bowling Green. Pours a clear mahogany body with an attractive beige head that leaves some sheets of lace. Aroma has some nuttiness and faint chocolate, plus a green apple note that probably doesn’t belong. Medium body and carbonation. Taste opens with an appropriate malty nuttiness with a hint of chocolate. Some Coca Cola notes appear midway through and last to the finish. A hint of spicy black pepper at the finish. Not at all bad for this fledlgling western Kentucky micro. Their labels remind me a bit of New Glarus.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 esjaygee (2599) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 27, 2008
Bottle from Chucks Liquor in Bowling Green. Dark amber with a crystal clear body and a light tan head. Aroma of maple, caramel and nuts. Taste is like a caramel maple nut crunch candy bar – caramel, nuts, maple, toffee, light sugar. On the malted side with a light roasted malt finish that’s a little dry and peppery too.
