COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Occasional;
A copper coloured session beer with a gentle hoppiness from a variety called Cluster, the oldest American hop. Maris Otter malt with pale chocolate giving colour and flavour with a small amount of amber malt giving a slight biscuit taste.

Cask conditioned at Merton Summer B.F ’08. Copper with white head. Good light session type bitter, light but giving enough fruity, dry, hoppy flavour to compensate. Mid roast malt body carrying a chunky, earthy hop. Not bad.

[Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe] Russet with a moderate off-white head. Big, rich fruit and toffee flavour, little bitterness, slips down as smooth as you like. Loved it. Is this the perfect after-work pint?

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Fin’s excellent Merton Beer Festival.
Bright amber with a thin white film. Slight malt and hops with a little tea. Nice zesty fruit finish with a really good dry feel. Straight forward but likeable.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Merton Summer BF. A copper bronze coloured beer with an off-white coloured head. A hoppy aroma with lemons and peaches. Dry and hoppy in the mouth with some citrus and some grass. Soapiness in the swallow. Gentle enough.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2008 Cask, gravity dispense at Merton Summer Beer Festival July 18th and 19th 2008 Another very good beer from a very decent brewery and one that was amazingly flavoursome despite the low abv. This beer was named ’Max’ after the unborn child of very good friends of the brewers sadly the unborn baby died six months into the pregnancy, which seems so awfullly sad. The beer itself was as it states copper in colour and with a nice bubbly white head. Good light bitterness and an impressive use of the Cluster hop which I gather is pretty much looked down upon usually. Some lingering lightly tangy fruit and a dryness at the end ensures that this beer has plenty going on for its strength.

Gravity, at the excellent Merton summer festival. Light copper with an interesting green cast. Lots of pretty soap sud foam. Blackberry, leaf and fresh scone aroma. Fine textured cinnamon bitterness, sweet toasty biscuit. Surprising amount of body for the tiny abv. Plum mineral finish. Really impressive, first as 3.6% beer that is actually a distinct pleasure to drink, and second as a beer that takes the ugly step-child of American hops and gives it a chance to show it’s actually got some chops. Nice.
