3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 FatPhil (6206) - Tallinn, - APR 16, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2010 500ml bottle (UK) - shared by SaintMatty - thanks! (6:3:8:4:14=3.5)
Rich orange, doughy head. Simple malty and meadowy aroma. Sweet caramelly malty body, dry noble hop bitter bite, but a fruitier finish too. Lovely long finish, in fact. Well balanced, and a classic UK bitter. Would love to have this cask, bottles can rarely compare to that.
Rerate: Cask (GBBF2010)
7 Super sharp citrusst aroma, some light grains too.
3 Gold, brief head
7 Big bite immediately. Big on the hops. But pleasant light grains too.
4 Soft palate, carbonation low
14 All round great session bitter.

Cask at the Bull Inn in Chichester, light brown with lacy white head, sweetish malt aroma with orange notes, bittersweet and malty with a crisp tang. Very nice.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vignale (911) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2011
Uncommonly bitter and hoppy for an english bitter. Lots of zesty grass and dandelion tones and bitterness a long with a bit of citrus. Dry, fresh and bitter. Cask at Greatham Inn East Hampshire.

On cask at Nerax North.
Pours a slightly cloudy deep golden color with a thin veil of soft white bubbles. Smell is sweet malty with hints of candy sugar and a spicy earthy almost citric hop aroma as well. Taste is sweet and bready malt with hints of earthy hops. Medium body with a low level of carbonation and I slick mouthfeel. Decent brew I’m glad I got the chance to try it and on cask no less.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A golden beer with a thin yellowish head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits and straw, leading to a dry finish. Quite refreshing.

50cl bottle from the Home Brew Shop, Aldershot. Amber with a scummy white head; grassy aroma; fresh floral flavour to start with some caramel maltiness to follow; and a light grassy bitterness to finish. A well-balanced bitter.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ladnewton (910) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2010
Cask at the Southampton Arms on 1st July 2010. Hazy amber with cream-white head. Bitter hoppiness and citrus notes harmonise together but are up against an underlying "ashiness" that seems to detract rather than add o the experience of the beer. As with all my lower ratings I am quite happy to be proved wrong!

Courtesy chzman. Gold. White head. Nose of caramel and earthy, grassy hops. Flavor of softly sweet malt and plentiful floral, grassy hops, nicely bitter and dry. Medium/light body, moderate carbonation. A hoppy bitter that I could drink a ton of.
