COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Regular;
Light chestnut in colour which puts it into the 'brown beer' category. As far as flavour goes, it tends rather more towards the malt than the hops, though there is a pleasing hop taste right at the finish. The aroma is light and pleasant.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is marzipan, a bit eggy with some notes of caramel and yeast. Flavour is fruity, wooden, herbal and quite sweet malty notes too. Ends in a quite nice and bitter way.

500ml bottle - shared by SaintMatty - thanks!
5 Fairly bland aroma, some swimming pool aspects, a little chemical and watery.
3 Slightly hazy orange, a bit of a scummy head. Looks a little muddy and flat, portends being sour.
6+ Initial taste is an immediate wow of sweet but sharp citrussy hops, really nice. However, past that peak it’s a little dull. Sherbetty.
3 Soft palate, carbonation low to non-existent. Finish pleasantly hoppy, citrussy and sweet.
13 Flatness is a flaw, trouble with the bottling. Fortunately not soured. It is a tasty beer, but I’m sure I’d give this .5 more if it was cask. English beers are very hard to translate into bottle form, often some luck is required, and this had none.

50cl bottle from the Home Brew Show, Aldershot. Amber with a rapidly fading white head; malty aroma with a hint of apple; soft textured with a malty flavour. Pleasant enough, but nothing special.

Cask Conditioned handpump The Harp London. An amber coloured beer with a ring of off-white bubbles. A good mix of malt and hops in this with a bit of creaminess. The nose tends towards sweetness. A decent quaffing beer which I didn’t mark down as a mild.

(Cask at Swann, Liverpool, 18 July 2009) Amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with orange peel and marmalade. Fruity, malty taste with notes of caramel, orange peel and a bittersweet, earthy bitterness. Nice beer with a good balance between malt and hops.
