An American style Hefeweizen with fresh Jalapenos added to the boil. This beer is surprisingly sweet and smooth with just a hint of heat to finish. Most of the Jalapenos have the seeds taken out so surprisingly this Jalapeno Hefeweizen has very little heat but a whole lot of flavor.

Sample at brewery. Pours clear pale gold. Aroma is straight up fresh raw jalapenos. Whoa. Also Laffy Taffy banana. Light body, easy to drink. Too much pepper (not in a spicy way - just in a raw pepper way), but true to their word I guess. Fun beer at any rate.

On tap at GABF 2013, soapy and some pepper aroma, taste is all pepper, no banana.

On tap at the brewery from notes taken at the time. Pours cloudy golden color white head and poor head retention. Aroma is of peppers and that is about it. Taste is slight wheat with a jalapeno aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin and watery.

Draft at Bowser’s because I needed something to try and scrape the diacetyl off my tongue, and this seemed like the best way to go about it. For a chili beer, this (shockingly) is remarkably pleasant. Pours cloudy gold, with a thin white head and poor lacing. Nose is fresh jalapeno peppers, with some light clean malt, but the peppers rule the roost here. Flavours of sweet wheat and fresh bell peppers, with just a little bit of heat from the pepper. Really nie jalapeno character. How is it that they can make such a surprising Chili Beer, but they make the worst IPA on the planet?
