500 ml bottle. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a small mocha head. Aromas are dark fruit, wood, and molasses. Tastes are ripe fruit, some toastiness, and crystal malt. Medium body and carbonation, medium warm and bitter finish. Not bad.

Pours clear deep brown/red with a short lived off-white head. Nose of molasses, traces of fruit bread, and booze. Body is a tad thin and flat. Notes of strawberry, anice, and citrus peel, sitting on top of heavy roasted crystal/biscuity malts. Nutty. Bitter. It’s peculiar. Mineral and meat broth finish. I wouldn’t have pegged this as an old ale, more like a thin porter.

Pour is barely black with a small tan cap. Nose is berry jam, burnt toast, liquorice. Toastiness comes out even more in the flavour. Toasted grain bitterness goes nicely with the fruitiness. A little thin but still pretty tasty - like Emma Stone in Birdman. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown / black with small tan head. Faint scent of blackcurrant and citrus. Flavor is bitter and sweet with hints of liquorice and has a short lived, bright, sweet finish. Crisp and enjoyable in mouth with high degree of quaffability.
