At just on cool and into a tulip it goes. Radiant, bright as bright with a soapy lather atop. The body a deep copper. Nose hints at honeydew, pine needles, sticky marmalade and lemon grass, and sweet toffee brittle - on a sweeter tip! Twiggy, with a leafy quality amongst some sweet toasted, biscuity malts balanced by sour fruits on the palate. Vinous with a lemongrass note. Medial to light body with good presence and soft, foamy carbonation. Quite zesty, and then it becomes dry. Once warm it is parching dry. Is that possible? The sugars evaporated as it warmed - a phenomenon! This is actually quite a refreshing ale. Wine-like, fruity, woody with life and light bitterness. Good stuff!!! Reasonable, not exceptional. Plenty of malt on the nose, uncomplicated flavours with some citrus, a little sherbet, moderate malt and a moderate bitter finish. Generic, passable.

Live Rating: 500 ml bottle served cellar cool at home in a pint sleeve. Attractive clear gold with a thin but persistent white head that leaves lacing down the glass. Florally perfumed aroma, calmed down by complimentary cereal. Honey Weetabix, almonds in the flavour, bittersweet medium bodied. Slick mouthfeel. Astringent finish. Quite pleasant, but I bought 4 bottles, drank two, and didnít decide to rate for a few months and felt it needed a memory nudge. Describes itself as an IPA,, but to me, itís one of those light hoppy English bitters that go skunky pretty quickly if left too long.
