Dark brown in colour, with a subtle vanilla aroma. The vanilla sweetness contrasts nicely with the slight bitterness from the roasted barley and chocolate malts

Half pint, cask. Drinking with Craig at Cloisters Bar in Edinburgh. Black with a dark-brown tint. Bubbly ring to the rim of the glass. Aroma of roasted malts with a touch of anise. Burnt earthy malts joined by vanilla sweetness in flavour. Rounded ending by bittering malts. Likable, 29.11.2010.

Bottle from a supermarket in Somerset. Pours mahogany with a frothy cream head. Sweet vanilla aroma. The taste has roast malt flavours, slight chocolate with strong vanilla. The body is fairly thin. At first the vanilla was a bit dominant, but seemed to fade after a few sips. Decent.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A. BBE 06/2017.
Pours dark ruby red color with a small head. Very chocolaty aroma, vanilla, cocoa and roasted malts, some hops. Flavor is chocolaty, slightly lactic tones, vanilla, toasted malts, some very distant coconut. Dry palate, slightly bitter, slightly thin body but still quite rich for such low abv. Overall pleasant.

500ml bottle. Wow. Pours a slightly dark brown appearance with a pretty nice size brownish foamy head. Good lacing. Aromas of vanilla, caramel, and roasted barley malts. Coffee mocha and roasted malts for flavours with hints of vanilla and caramel, like aromas. Somewhat bitter mouthfeel, but not overpowering. Caught off guard by 4.5% abv, seems like a stronger beer, or maybe should be. Good stuff.

Bottle. Medium aroma of vanilla and chocolate. Brown color, clear. Short lasting white head. Watery taste, with medium bitterness - no significant signs of dark malts. Light body, medium carbonation. Decent, but that’s all I can say
