Crosse Keys, Bank 5 Nov 12. JDW festivaløl. Dyp brun. Lavt luftig skum. Antydning til plommer i aromaen. Smaken er syrlig frukt. Stikkelsbær. Holder seg syrlig lenge med en litt tung bitter ettersmak.

Cask ale, JDWs festival, 1/3 pint at Crosse Keys. Bright naked surface to a clear, dark amber coloured body. Aroma of caramel malts followed by a malt-fruity taste character that lingers throughout. Pleasant enough (London, 05.11.2012).

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Brown with an off white foam. Aromas are weetabix, berries and light chocolate with stewed apple. Herbal with some yeasty, musty notes. Fairly floral with light nuttiness and spiced tea. Flavours are toffee malts with slightly tart lemon and berries. Chocolate with hints of lactose and barnyard yeast. Fruity and dry, spicy on the finish. A bit different.

Cask handpull, The Briar Rose, Brum, 10/11/12. Wow- another festival winner in bostin’ nick in this seething pre-match Spoons. Skimmed, dappled bronze. Soft aniseed and dandelion aroma. Slightly Batemansesque soft aniseed and caramel flavour with restrained herbal English hop; the dankness of dew on grass/canvass. Late cream and nutmeg. Dull but without flaws. Well done for what it is.

Leighton (7179) - London, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2012
Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours perfectly clear, red-gold with a fine, white foam head. Rich roasted bread aroma, some toasty sugars, hints of berries and dirt. Light to medium sweet flavour with a surprising amount of sturdy roasted malts, hints of cocoa, toasted brown bread, mild earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with nice toasted malts, some semi-dark berries, rich bread. Quite a good bit of character packed into this fella.
