Cask at the Southampton Arms on 7th June 2011. Virtually black with very little head. Pungent earthy aroma. Herb, spice, smoke and roast malts in-mouth. Sweetish aftertaste. Solid, full-bodied mouthfeel.

Cask conditioned at The White Horse at Banbury Cross, Banbury. Black with cream head. There is a medicinal note with this along with blackcurrant, Andy reckons Blackcurrant Strepsils. There was also a liquorice note too for me, full and flavoursome. Decent.

downender (4387) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2011
Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/6/2011. Near black in colour with a tight, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and milk chocolate aroma with a touch of dark fruit. Flavour was laos driven by sweetness, with more chocolate, some roastiness and a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
