COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A limited release of our standard Scotch Ale. We aged 400 liters in 2 oak Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks for 4 months to obtain some additional flavor complexities. A traditional Scotch Ale that has undergone a long boil in the kettle for caramelization of the wort. This produces a mahogany wood colored brew that is a full bodied beer with a touch of sweetness in the finish with some pronounced caramel and roasted malt flavors. A low tea-like bitterness from the use of UK hops helps offset some of the malt backbone of the beer. The aging in the wine barrel contributes some dark cherry and oak notes resulting in a very complex ale.
