Bottle. Bright orange amber, light golden head. Caramel malts balance with soft tropical fruit hops, bitter finish. Not too sweet, nice balance, nice hop character.

amber in the glass. strong aromas of hops and molasses. overly hopped for a red ale. much more like a pale ale. Not sure why it isnít marketed as one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Amber hue, looks decent, smells kind of hoppy, more what Iíd expect of IPA territory, or perhaps a West Coast style Red. Decent head, sweetish mouthfeel and linger. Even though this is a far cry from most beers dubbed "Red Ale" because of the hops, itís somehow out of balance. Overall decent but I wonít be running for another.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341ml bottle. Hopsy reds seem to be trendy right now, but these manages to be more than a bandwagon jumper. The bitterness is well balanced with the red malts. It is bitter without being too overpowering. Rather more drinkable than some more intense examples of this sub-style. Overall, a real hit for me.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Thanks gethinbeer! Deep amber pour with a thick off-white head. The nose is a bit caramelly with a touch of fairly assertive bitterness. Slightly woodsy bitterness with a lingering earthy flavour. Not very well-integrated or tasty. Some treacle and a very minerally finish. A miss for me. Malts are poorly constructed and they only hit a single dull note. Meh.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
341 ml bottle into an English pint glass. Pours a dark amber with a hint of red to it. Light beige head which fades rather quickly. Malty caramel and moderate hoppiness. Kinda sticky on the palate but full and rich body. A bit complex on the back-end, with a moderate bitterness and varying levels of sweetness. Great stuff.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Darker amber to red colour and well laced. Big hoppy aroma that is very aggressive. Caramel and malts with a hint of toffee are also abundant on the aroma. Big brew with a very bold taste and doesnít really let up. Very tasty for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
341 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits. Pours a clear dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is modestly toasty caramel malt and modest citric hopping. Flavour is toasty toffeeish malt and resiny, citric hops. Moderate bitterness in finish. Mouthfeel on the sticky side. Quite pleasant.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Great aroma of malt and hop. Amber pour with a thin lace. Syrup texture. Lovely hoppy caramel malt flavour. A too little sweet. Smooth finish. Tasty beer. Just lacks some excitement.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2013 Pours a dark amber with reddish highlights and a frothy tan head that sticks around admirably. Caramel and toasted malt on the nose with a nice citrusy hop burst. The palate is more caramel and lightly roasted notes with a lighter citrusy note underneath. Maybe a little thicker than Iíd like but much better than a lot of the generic red ales on the market today.
