COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruno Bitter belongs in the pale ale style grouping, but has a greater variety of strength, flavor, and appearance of mainstream pale ales. This bitter has a deep copper red color and was named for our own, richly flavored watchdog.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Pours a deep reddish amber color, clear, with a medium tan head, good head retention and lacing. Nutty aroma with lots of floral hops. Taste is floral hops, peach and pear, with a bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Tap at the pub. Super cloudy, like it was pulled from a cask (it was not) layered orange yellow number. Nose is citrus, malt, earth. Flavor is very dirty and peppery with a fairly astringent finish.

Bart (2510) - Brussels, BELGIUM - OCT 28, 2011
Amber coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a small off white head. Light herby hinted aroma. Medium palate. Finish is slightly bitter with a short hoppy hint. Loner dry hoppy finish, however not realy convincing. Misses character.

Starts off with a nice peppery and hop resin aroma. Softly carbonated with a spritzy finish. Light toffee malt backbone doesn’t quite carry the heavy handed bittering hops in the finish.

a solid bitter with the usual fruity esters from the yeast and light but tasty biscuity and caramel notes with nice bitter finish and some floral hops on the nose.

Elwood (1966) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - APR 26, 2010
Serving: Draft at the brewpub. It pours a clear amber color with a frothy, off-white head. The nose is very light with notes of papery hops. The flavor is solidly bitter with notes of grassy hops, toast, slight floral notes, and a subtle hint of diacetyl. A strange vegetal note and slight hints of apple juice come out as the beer warms. It has a medium body leading to an oddly vegetal finish. While I’ve certainly had worse, this is no beer worth coming out for.

Tap at BB. Pours a very light clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma is solvent, earth, lemon zest, very fruity English yeast low butter. Flavor is more solvent and eng yeasty fruity ester, peach and apple, toffee earth and astringent in the finish. Meh.

Cask pour at the brewpub. Nice bright orange pour with a fairly modest head, not quite as fluffy as you’d expect. But the mouthfeel is nicely smooth, and the flavors are quite pleasant. Sharply hoppy, a trace of modest fruit, and a dry finish. Not really an English bitter to me, but an enjoyable beer.
