voota (754), Melbourne, Australia Jun 21, 2005 Pours amber with a very poor diminishing head, not a good start… The flavour is unbalanced a little bitter but with some weird maltiness and yeastiness, with something weird that I couldn’t put my finger on. It’s also a little sour, maybe an old bottle. Pretty disappointing, but better than your average VB.
Samma (50), Australia Aug 14, 2008 From bottle purchased at cellar door. Rather disappointing ale. Surprisingly bitter and hoppy with murky apperance and unbalanced set of flavours. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 7, 2006 Bottled. Muddy nut brown, dishwater like head. Aroma of malt syrup. Sweet with raw, mellow mouthfeel. There’s notes of peaches wading through the malt syrup. Even the finish is dominated by that syrup, hiding a vague harsh bitterness. Tastes more like something made from a homebrew kit than a real microbrewed beer, I’m afraid. Lunkie (1006), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 17, 2006 Malt hop aroma with spiritus undertones. Murky brown colour with poor head and lacing. Strong malt flavour with an unnatural aftertaste. Fizzy palate. vanvenlo (784), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 15, 2006 19 Nov 05 - Nice malt and hop aroma. Light cloudy brown colour, plain head and Ok lacing. Harsh hop, slightly sweet but a bit strange, lacks malt. Metallic weird thinnish finish. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Dec 30, 2005 Updated: Feb 13, 2006Slightly cloudy light brown with a large but short lasting off-white head. Grainy and sour-apple aroma, with a touch of fruity hops. On tasting the aroma is a bit offensive. Sourness comes charging through in the flavour, making it seem like a cider considering the apple aroma. Interesting, and somewhat satisfying, but it’s a bit out there. Re-rate: Hasn’t improved, just seems more and more like homebrew. Bitterness does not match the rest of the beer
