APPEARANCE ? light copper color, very clear. NOSE ? fragrant hop scents. Pleasant mix of resin base, with some lighter overtones of fruity hop touches. FLAVOR ? pronounced resinous hop flavors in the beginning, and if finishes with a balanced bitterness. NOTES ? good IPA, and a solid beer. However, if doesn?t stand out from other west coast inspired offerings.

12 oz pour from a refrigerated can into an oversized wine glass. Full disclosure: I bought this four weeks ago in Bozeman and packed it in my suitcase so I could have a taste of home while living in Austria. It may not have traveled in ideal conditions, but man was it worth it. Pours a beautiful hazy amber-orange with ample carbonation and a moderate fluffy white head. Nose is pine and resin. Medium bodied, on the thicker side, with a sticky finish. The carbonation kinds of bites at the end as well. Taste is very bitter and very good. Lots of herbal hops up front, but some citrus hidden back behind everything. Finishes with herbal bitterness. Not a beer for the faint of heart, but for a hop head, it’s a great choice. This is probably the first time it’s ever been drank in Austria.

Clear golden pour with a single finger head that fades quick. Aroma is light, hints of flowers and citrus. Taste is heavy on malt and grain. The citrus hop bitterness comes in the finish. Nice grassy notes and a little tropical fruit. Easy drinking. Light mouth.

Can at Endo’s, thanks to Frank himself, 09/11/14. Clear golden amber with a decent off white covering that retains well. Nose is bitter citric peel, hops, light pine needle, straw. Taste comprises caramel malt, spice, dank hop strokes, bitter tropicana, orange pith, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA.

Transfer from BA review on 5-4-14- Poured from can into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a medium golden color with a huge head of white billowy foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave some foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is lower on the malt smells and heavier on the hop. The lighter malt smells are of a light bready smell mixed with just a little bit of an orange aroma. The hop is rather big and bold with a big pine aroma being the heaviest, but having plenty of grapefruit and earthy hops mixed within. Overall the brew smells like it is on the drier side with a good hit of resinous hop. Taste – The taste begins with a drier cracker like taste mixed with a lighter pine and grapefruit hop. The grapefruit gains a little bit of strength toward the middle, but maintains a lighter profile overall. The pine grows stronger and stronger as the flavor moves onto the end and is joined by some more herbal hop flavors along the way. Some earthy hops and a little bit of tangerine pop up at the end of the taste and mix with the drier cracker and other hop flavors, to leave a rather crisp and moderately resinous hop flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The moderateness of the carbonation and body is a nice balance for the crisp taste and easy drinkability, all while upholding all the hop flavors to a good extent. Overall – A rather crisp and moderately resinous IPA that is rather easy to drink. A pleasant IPA overall.

Poured up on tap into a tumbler at Mackenzie River Pizzeria, Bozeman, where it has a clear gold body that supports a nearly white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up citrus and sweet malts that have a thin edge of gummy bear citrus candy. The taste delivers a tasty jumble of hop bitterness, hop flavor and some malty sweetness. The hops go from tangelo and grapefruit and pine to a sliver of mango and faint mint. This is nice and hoppy with a pleasing level of resiny hop bitterness.
