3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 montanabeerman (8) - Bozeman, USA - MAR 6, 2006 does not count
From a growler, direct from the brewery. Nice off-white rocky head. Some lacing. Light hoppy aroma. Good flavor, with strong hop bitterness and citrus notes. Not as malty as I would hope and a thin mouthfeel. Decent session beer and its a common find here in the Bozeman area. I agree with willblack however, too bad it doesnt have a more distinctive character.

Drank from a can. Smells of old pond water with some sugar thrown in. Light, very light brown hue with large bubbles and little head. Very little lacing. Mouthfeel was very light and VERY fizzy. Taste was really nasty. Like tangy pond scum. Ech! Throw this one back!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mbgrayson (374) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - JUL 26, 2009
Hoppier than most ambers. I don’t like it all that much. I prefer smooth to bitter, and malt to hops. The quality here is fine if you like pale ales. Have to decline giving a thumbs up.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 12, 2007
Third stop during the ABA Beer Tour ’07 in Bozeman, Montana. Sampled at the Bozeman brewery brewpub on tap. Pours a clear coppery red brew with a creamy off-white head that dissolves to a fine film with good lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, slight citrus hops with a touch of grapefruit zest. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel and light orange peel. Finish is slightly sweet with less hop bitterness in the taste compared to it’s scent. A very good balanced amber ale.

On draught at the tap room, metered by an orange 3-drink tag. Pours a clear amber with a thick and lasting white head and lace. Light-to-medium-bodied with a full mouthfeel, nice hoppy flavor and bitterness. Well-carbonated, with an even maltiness.

On Tap: good amber color with a moderate off white head. Blend of malts, a bit of roastiness, caramels, light hops, and a bit of citrus sweet. Medium in intensity, but pleasant overall.
