Flavor is roast malts forward with supporting dark fruit esters and light floral hops and faint woody notes; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Draft at Big Sky. Strong chocolate, bitter, hop flavor. Smells like chocolate, caramel, and marshmallows.

Nose of dark chocolate roasted malts and light sweet dark fruit. Pours dark brown almost black with a tan head. Flavors of roasted malts dark bitter chocolate dark fruits and a little sugary sweetness. Smooth and flavorful with nice body. Solid house porter.

On tap at Tamarack Missoula. Brown/black color with a thin tan top. Scent is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, roasted coffee and earthy.

Draft at Montana Ale Works, served in a pint glass. Pours a deep, opaque brown color with a small beige head that laces the glass. Aroma of toasted and roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, and brown sugar. The flavor is the same, with some earthiness and dark fruits. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a rich, roasty mouthfeel. Good porter.

Very dark brown pour, light brown head. Aroma starts with some molasses, prunes, roasted malt, dark toasted bread and some coffee. Flavor is coffee and roasted malts up front, some chocolate malt and hops finish it nicely.

On tap @ Bozeman Brewing. Dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of mostly chocolate and coffee with some light caramel and roast. Flavor is rich chocolate and coffee with a light roasty bitterness. Medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Solid porter.

Draft. Very dark maroon color, creamy beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee grounds. Taste is dark roasted coffee and bitter dark cocoa. Nice stuff.
