COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Plum St. Porter is named in honor of the unique Northeast neighborhood section of Bozeman, where the brewery is located. An eclectic and somewhat eccentric mixture of homes, businesses and art studios. Plum St. Porter is a rich blend of six different malts including wheat, brown and chocolate for a velvety smooth texture. Full malt bodied with a deep dark coffee color and a subtle hop dryness to make this porter extremely enjoyable. Starting Gravity of 1.056.

Sampled at the NABA 06 Fest: Black color, tan head, fairly retentive. Sweet creamy oats along with an extended roast, like a long low heat BBQ. Balanced finish, good body. One of the better beers of the fest. It’s hard to get to a brewer’s booth and they have 8 beers you’ve never had before on tap. In one hand you feel obligated, but in the other, you don’t like standing in the same spot for as long as it takes to write notes on that many beers. But, to digress, at least the spot I chose wasn’t as choking with cigar smoke as some of the others.

Third stop during the ABA Beer Tour ’07 in Bozeman, Montana. Sampled at the Bozeman brewery brewpub on tap. Pours a near opaque dark brown brew with a creamy very slow dissolving off-white head. Excellent sticky lacing on glass edges. Aroma of coffee, light white chocolate with some flowery hops. Taste is full bodied, very light carbonated, smooth, creamy with flavors of roasted dark malt, milk chocolate and a touch of coffee. Finish is bittersweet with a lingering roasted malt aftertaste. One of the brewpubs best products.
