OhioDad (2492), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Sep 6, 2007 Bottle shared by Sliffy & Pud - Poured amber with a short offwhite head. Aromas of slight citrus hops and pale malts. Flavor is mostly bready but I did get some caramel, and a bit of the citrus hops. Much more earthy than I usually like my IPAs. Alcohol was covered well though and it was pretty easy to drink. Would have never guessed this one to be 9.5% alcohol.
harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 11, 2008 Bottle at Orsted Olbarog. Amber, lots of floaters in suspension. Grapefruit on aroma. Decent IPA. Good DIPA. Good grapefruit. Good balance, ok malt. Could do with more dominant malt. Hop is peppery and stings until the end. Decent hop and DIPA hop sting on finish. sayravai (3183), Helsinki, Finland Oct 4, 2008 (Bottled) Medium brown with practically no head (CO2 disappeared from the bottle :(). Aroma of (exotic) fruit and aromatic hops, with some sweet maltiness. Strongly fruity-hoppy flavor with lots of berries, sweetish backing maltiness, and slight ashy hints. Hop bitterness stays for quite a while in the aftertaste, and alcohol is fully hidden. Quite a full body, emphasized by the flat carbonation. A good example of the style. Too bad my flip-top had failed, but I don’t think I’ll re-rate this - except maybe from the brewery tap, if there is one. Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Sep 28, 2008 Had this at the Orsted cafe/bar, Kobenhaven 13-09-08 Pours hazy amber in colour with white head. Lovely sweet piney and citrusness in the mouth with some sweetness to back up proceedings. Really good flushy bitterness forces its way through. My notes are sketchy but this was a damn good beer. oh6gdx (6339), Vaasa, Finland Sep 25, 2008 Bottled@Örsted Ölbar, Copenhagen. Deep orangeish amber colour with small head. Aroma is pineapple, peach, some nectary sweetness as well as mild grass and wood. Flavour is quite hoppy, not too sweet, even though being fruity. A quite normal DIPA, wellbalanced and drinkable. FatPhil (2365), Espoo, Finland Sep 21, 2008 Bottle (Orsted Olbar, Copenhagen)<br />
Anna wrote these notes, and I can’t read them, so this might not make any sense at all. Initially smells of pineapple a bit. Hops. Tastes quite hoppy but not utterly stupid. Long finish. Would be stupid if a whole pint. Covered the alcohol fairly well, but clearly big.
