Commercial Description:

English: Brøckhouse Christmas Beer has everything. It is top-fermented with Belgian yeast and brewed using four different sorts of malt and cane sugar. The taste is profound, warm and full with a distinct touch of chocolate. This is a genuine Abbey Ale with all the fragrances of Christmas: dates, figs, cloves and apricots. The hops are Northern Brewer and aromatic East Kent Goldings. Brøckhouse Christmas has been stored for 3 months and will keep easily for up to 10 years. It is an ale that goes excellently with the traditional Danish Christmas fare. Best served at 10-12 degrees celsius.

Dark ruby. Tons of christmas packed in a monster Abbey Ale. Cinnamon, cane sugar and hops in the nose - the dark dry christmas fruits (dates, figs etc.) all the way. Large celler-potential...almost to much as new...looking forward to a years-horisontal tasting...

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a mahogany color with a small creamy head. NOse is belgian candy sugar, honey, mulling spices, and some dark fruit such as dates. Taste is surprisingly weak after that nice nose. Sugar, spice, malt, a bit watery mouthfeel, and not a lot of back end bitterness or acid. Not bad but the nose was the real fun.

2006 bottle thanks to bu11zeye.. Thought this was a brown or even a mild because of the malt heavy and low, non alpha hop profile. Pours with a light brown head, covering a dark brown body. Aroma of dark furits, caramel and pitted fruits. Taste is a bit sour and metallic at first, but towards the end there ar dark fruits and some coffee malts. Lightly fizzy. Interesting beer.

A strong, sweet ale with hints of fruit and spices, the most dominant fruit taste is apricots. Finish is slightly bitter, rounding out the taste. There is only a slight alcohol taste, so it goes down smooth for being such a strong beer. It also pairs well with heavy food.

Aroma: sweetish, sourish, almond, tulips, wheat, rustic hops... warm malt, fruity... bizarrely ’piquant’. Nice.
Flavour: bittersweet, deep malty flavour. Dried fruit. Chocolate. Sweet tobacco. Powerful. Hot. Roasted & liquorice aftertaste. Fortified wine. Flowery.
Appearance: very dark brown, foggy. Yellowish (bone) head. Small bubbles, lacing.
Palate: very good. Full-bodied, thick. Very reasonable moderate carbonation. Vinous.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown colour with lasting off-white head. Aroma is spices (cinnamon, liquorice), coffee, a little chocolate, and nuts. Flavor is much of the same with the alcohol giving it a very pleasant boost. I think this is very balanced. Excellent beer.
