COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the oldest Polish beers described in bibliography. A top fermented beer known for its rich and refine taste. It is reasoned by the usage of 3 types of barley malt : Pilzen, Munich and caramel malt and wheat malt. Mastne - the only beer like that from Cieszyn. Brewed on the occasion of the 165th brewery birthday.

Aroma is old malt and dead beer. Flavour is moldy malt with a weird sweetness. Meh. Not good.

Bottle. Amber with a frothy head. Slightly smoky, sweetish, aromatic, estery-fruity aroma. Taste is mainly fruity and caramelly with a medium bitterness and some nuts and metal in the aftertaste. This traditional Polish ale appears to a high degree like an English bitter, and a very good one at that.

Draft in Zywiec festival. Red-brown color (or amber), with white foam. Grainy and herbal aroma. Taste is rich: some fruits, spices, sugar tones and hops also. Bitter finish and it was long. Nice.

bottle from Schroppfy - thank you! Clear brownish golden colour, large off-white head, very creamy. Fruity nose with caramel. Malty start, some ale-like fruitiness, hints of caramel and nuts. Rounded off by bitter and aromatic hops. It reminds me a bit of a good English Bitter - although it’s different. Unusual, but very good.

Schroppfy (2328) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - OCT 6, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2010 Strange beer. Quite bitter, with the usual hoppiness for this area. But no soft malt to carry it - harsh breadlike flavors. Seems to be an ale, but it is a weird one. The aroma is also strong, harsh hoppy and grainy. Good looking, clear pouring, head retains well, body is slightly slippery/oily. Must resample.
