Whelk (124), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England Apr 23, 2008 Cask at the University Arms, Sheffield. Pours a dark orange with a thin white head. Aroma is biscuit and citrus hoppiness, a touch of green apple. Flavors are cidery, biscuity, vegetal, with a dry finish.
TheGrandMaster (1486), Auckland, New Zealand Aug 15, 2008 Bottle (in NZ), a haze to the light gold pour, with a large pillowy white head. An earthy malt nose with floral hops. The malt palate is quite sweet, with some fruit flowery flavour coming through on the swallow. Found the finish just a little non-descript, but a pretty harmless bitter. Doppelganger (1197), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jul 17, 2008 Re-rate: Aitken dispense system at the fantastic Bow Bar in Edinburgh. Train canceled, so had an hour to make a quick beeline here and back the the station to catch the next train. Yellow gold, clean snowy white head. Rustic sweet candy hops. Sweet, full bodied malt, candy/garden bitterness, just a tiny hint of resin in the finish. Pleasant old fashioned sort of beer. renffisch (455), london, Greater London, England Jun 10, 2008 bottle thanks to tashi. Straight forward hop nose, nothing original. clear straw colour, little white head. quite bland and un-everything. overly carbonated. ok. Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England May 31, 2008 Tashi’s house, 28/05/08. Not too much to say - this was very similar to the others. A bit fizzier perhaps. Bored now. Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England May 28, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle thanks to Tashi. Golden brown colour with a thin white head. Balanced aroma of bitter grassy hops and good earthy malt. Similar flavour but somehow it doesn’t balance out. Dry finish is nice though. So so.
