Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of citrus and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt citrus, and elderflowers, leading to a dry finish.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour with a small white foamy head. Aroma is bready and caramelly with some toffee, nectar and mild not-too-sweet honeylike notes. Flavour is honey, fruits, mild wood, caramel and some toffeeish notes. Pleasant and quite bodied.

Bottled. An unusual beer. The aroma hints at a sour, with some touches of Belgian yeast too. The taste is slightly creamy, developing into a fine strong ale taste, with the alcohol warmth spreading slowly and coating the tongue nicely. There’s some dryness on the palate and the finish is fruity, with a touch of candy. Lovely, dusty gold, complex beer, that really surprised me.

Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Beer Festival on 23 February 2011. Gold in colour. Sweet and fairly fruity - some notes of melon and pineapple. Pleasant enough. However, I found it a little short of impact and depth for a fairly strong ale. Couldn’t really see much lager-like about this.

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK. Golden verging on amber, nutty fruit and yeast aroma with some citrus. Sweet and bright then a turning bitterness that fills the mouth with malty bread.

Bottle, from Rhythm & Booze in Brigg. Faintly hazy lemon gold, moderate lasting white head and gentle condition. Faintly citric and fruity nose with hints of sweetness and hop resin, quite full and yeasty in the mouth with more fruitiness and low residual sweetness, crisp tangy finish with hits of citrus and fruity maltiness balanced by a chalky yeast bitterness and a touch of hop.
