Cask @ The Salopian, Shrewsbury. Pours dark, with thin tan head. Aroma is sweet, chocolate. Taste is sweet, milky, chocolatey.. flavours fade all too quickly though.

BlackHaddock (5756) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2015
500ml bottle at home on 11th Dec 2015: poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard. Almost black body with a full and lasting tanned topping. Roasted/toasted malts in the nose and taste, semi-sweet, yet with a mini-burnt malty bitterness also. Easy to drink, smooth, rich and creamy: a very pleasant Stout in deed.

Cask ale, half-pint at North Bar. Creamy, fawn-coloured head that lasts for a while. Deep dark brownish body colour. Roasted dark malty nose, backdrop of earth and nuts. Dark chocolate malt and dark dough flavours. Roasted bitterness to the finish. Decent stout (Leeds 09.07.2015).

Pours black with a nice big tan head. Not a huge amount of flavour for a stout. A bit of chocolate and burnt toast, but this is a little disappointing.

Cask @ JDW Bankers Draft, Sheffield [190314] [From memory as notes lost]
First beer of the Sheffield Trip so I remember this well. Black, dense tan head. Aroma of soft roast , chocolate, dark malts, some cereal. Similar flavours - good chocolate in it and nice smooth dark malts with that cereal edge. Medium body, smooth finish of soft roast and chocolate. Liked this one a lot. One of the best beers of the trip.

Theydon_Bois (16006) - Tourist Town (West), Berkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2013
Cask at the Arkwright Arms, Duckmanton, 04/10/13. Mid black with a moderately sized tan head. Nose is roast malt, dark toffee, earthy, light cocoa. Taste comprises roast malts, berry fruit tang, milk chocolate, molasses. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Solid cask stout.

larsga (7113) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 23, 2013
Medium brown head. Nearly opaque black body goes barely translucent deep dark brown at edges. Roasty earthy chocolate aroma with milky notes. Dry-sweet milky chocolatey taste with funky notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy chocolatey aftertaste with funky notes. It’s ok, but a bit odd. (0.5l bottle, from Clarke’s, Whitby.)
