Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks 16.04.11 Amber in colour, fruity with a bitter malty finish. Not sure that this was totally my thing found there to a be a littkle bit of washing up liquid taste in the backl of the mouth and the bitterness and fruitiness were lacking somewhat. 3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (5138) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2010
Bottle, filtered but not pasteurised from Conwy Fine Wines. Aroma; hopsack, dried apricots, pine, Southern Comfort, teenage sickbowl, wholemeal and ginger nuts. A hearty blend of hops, malt and discreet weirdness. Clear and lagery with a tight white head holding up well. Body fine and slick, moving into politely resinous hop, spruce, bilious citrus..marmalade you might call it. Honey and biscuits late on, but generally hop-driven. Engaging and tasty with the kind of slipperiness, mellow soapy hop and biscuit that disappears before you even realise you’ve started drinking it. Pretty good.
