First brewed in 1909 as a draft (chopp) beer. Launched as a bottled beer in 1934.
"Light, bright and crystalline beer. It is lighter, with the classic mouthfeel of a lager beer, strong body flavor, neutral aroma, bitterness level less accentuated and medium alcoholic content."

helder gouden met witte kraag, aroma van pilsmouten, graan, beetje goedkoop. smaken zijn erg licht, goedkoop ’oosteuropees-achtig’ granige tonen, muffig en nat karton, de rest doorgespoeld, nee bah !

47,3cl can shared by Arve_Christian - thanks. Pours clear pale with a small, white head. Slightly nauseating aroma with cooked vegetables, burned rubber and hints of grain and honey. Sweetish with some lightly sour notes and not much bitterness to speak of.

On can from supermarket in Bela Horizonte. Golden color, ok foam. Aromas of boiled vegetables, light citrus and very light hop. Light body & complexity. Good bitterness. It was a great deal better in Brazil at the World Cup

Canned 350 and 453 plus bottled versions. -from shops, bars and all other places across Brazil. Rated in Manaus. Yellow coloured, small to medium sized white head, flat nose. Sweetish malty, corny and watery with sweet notes in the finish. Not much difference than other Brazilian macros.

I can’t believe the negative ratings I’ve seen here for Brahma Chopp. The most likely reasn is that reviewers never got to taste the real thing which is UNPASTEURIZED and prsunmably not available outside Brazil. Having lived in Rio for 2 years 1956-58 and having tasted beer in many European countries and other venues I would say that the only country where I had beer as good as B/C was Germany. I also had excellent Heineken in St. Maarten , a Dutch possession for a long time, which apparently gets good Heineken beer somehow. Heineken available in the US is garbage, like all major bottled/canned beer available in this country since all of it is pasteurized. PASTEURIZATION RUINS EVEN THE BEST BEER. I drink Pilsner Urquell since it’s the least bad, but I cry when I imagine how good the real thing must be in the Czech Republic. IS THERE NO WAY OF GETTING BOTTLED, UNPASTEURIZED BEER OTHER THAN THOSE INFERIOR "MICROBREWERY" PRODUCTS? WHY CAN’T BRAHMA CHOPP BE IMPORTED REFRIGERATED?

A pretty basic lager, not much in its favor but not much against it either. Golden with a thick white head. Watery with some biscuit finish.

Served at every World Cup match, with your only other choice being Budweiser (thanks InBev). Sweet, grainy, slightly corny, bland. Thankfully this is served at 1-degree Celcius, otherwise it would ve un consumable. At least it comes in cool collectible plastic cups!

This is sad that this is one of the better Brazilian pale lagers. Light but at least isn’t as funky and rice laden as the others.

It is a typical Brazilian light flavoured pale lager served ice cold on tap only but is preferable to the bottled or canned versions for having a smoother maltier palate and less "chemical" flavours. By no means great shakes but the options for decent beer in Brazil are quite limited and this is widely available.
